President’s Message
Azizur Rahman, Ph.D.
President, CCCR
Dear Colleagues and Supporters,
As we embark on 2025, I am filled with optimism and determination for the Centre for Climate Change Research (CCCR). Our mission to develop innovative solutions to combat climate change has never been more critical, especially in light of recent findings.
A report from Environment and Climate Change Canada highlighted that human-induced climate change significantly increased the likelihood of Canada’s severe heat waves in 2024. This underscores the urgency of our work.
Key Focus Areas for 2025:
- Carbon Capture & Utilization: Converting COâ‚‚ into valuable products to aim for a 60% global reduction.
- Urban Organic Agriculture: Sustainable urban farming for food security and environmental health.
- Circular Economy: Solutions to minimize food waste and maximize resource efficiency.
- Startup Support: Providing grants and mentorship to accelerate climate-focused innovations.
- International Collaboration: Preparing for the 2025 CCCR International Conference.
Together, we are making significant strides toward a sustainable future. I encourage you to stay engaged with our work.
